Bonkers for BooksLRC Prefects to British Library

The Learning Resource Centre (LRC) provides a calm environment where girls at Davison can undertake research, complete homework, enjoy reading and make use of the range of exciting technologies available.

The aim of the LRC is to support and enhance learning across the curriculum at all levels and promote reading for enjoyment, thereby encouraging girls to become independent learners who are able to use a wide range of resources and technologies with confidence and discernment.

By encouraging our students to become independent learners and develop a lifelong reading habit, this will assist them in developing into reflective, mature individuals.

The LRC is open from 9am - 5pm Monday - Thursday and 4.30pm on Friday. Girls can use the LRC facilities both at break and lunchtime, which consist of 14 flat screen computers, printer, Audio and Visual resources, stationery shop, careers corner as well as a wide library of fiction and non-fiction books, magazines and newspapers.

Various reading-based fun activities take place in the LRC: Monthly General Knowledge quizzes, weekly Book Club, National and International competitions based around literature.
