Key Stage 4 Options

Dear Parents/Carers,

I am writing to outline the timing for option preferences over the next few weeks. I hope the process will make sense and be as stress free as possible. Subject Leaders, Mr Shakespeare and myself have been speaking to year 9 students in assemblies since December. The students have also had one lesson per week, over the last 5 weeks, during their "Personal Development" lesson time to start to think about the choices they will need to make.

It may seem like there is a very short window to actually make the decisions but students will already have some idea.

Students will get a personalised questionnaire and a booklet of information which should help guide them towards which of the 4 "Pathways " forms they need to fill out.

Their personalised booklet may contain assessment information where available- this is only to be used as one of the factors in helping your daughter chose the correct pathway.

I hope you are able to attend the evening on the 31st January 2013 even if your daughter is already convinced of her choice.

Key dates are as follows:

- 24th January during Lesson 3 - Students have assembly in the school hall to talk them through the process and receive Subject information booklet and Student Pathway Profile (Option form)
- 31st January = Year 9 Options evening
- 27th February = Pathway forms handed in by end of day.
