Davison has been given an excellent opportunity to raise the status of girls in Science, by being invited to be involved in the Thales 'Schools Challenge' for National Science & Engineering Week 2013. Year 9 students were selected to take part in this electronic engineering design challenge, which requires them to work in teams to design and build working metal detectors. Ambassadors from Thales UK provided us with equipment as well as their expertise in the after-school club. The students involved were Sofia Taylor, Olivia Carrington, Lily Haselip, Matilda Rhodes, Georgie Coppin and Emma Lamper. Emma and Sofia's metal detection skills meant that they won the semi-final competition at school, and along with the rest of the group, will be attending the South Eastern Big Bang Fair in July to compete against other schools.

YU - Out of Hours Learning at Davison - where learning is fun!

YU this Summer Term! The Youth University at Davison will be running courses on two Saturday mornings in June ~ Saturday 15th and Saturday 22nd June from 9.30am to 12.30pm. Each course costs £12.50. More details are to follow about the exact courses on offer on these mornings. YU SUMMER SCHOOL!! Our very popular Summer School will be held on 25th, 26th, 29th, 30th and 31st July. We are currently planning all the exciting courses for these five days and will put information on here as soon as we can.
